Aviation is the mother of space flight. For several decades, a museum unique not only for Poltava, but also for Europe, has been open in the city. The museum organically combines aviation and space exploration, just as inseparably as they are in reality. The museum was originally created as a memorial of space flight theoretician Yuriy Kondratyuk, and is now known as Poltava Air and Space Museum. Not many people have had a chance to see a real satellite up close. A visit to this symbol of aerospace achievements of the country and the city of Poltava is a journey to the fascinating, literally unearthly world that only became accessible to humanity several decades ago. The unique aviation and space museum boasts almost 3 thousand exhibits, storing over 5 thousand more in its collection.
